Metro State Men Defeat CSU-Pueblo, 8-1

PUEBLO, COLO. - Metro State men swept all six singles matches to defeat CSU-Pueblo, 8-1, while the women fell to the Thunderwolves, 8-1, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tennis action, Saturday afternoon at Pueblo City Park. On the men's side, Metro State led 2-1 after doubles as the No. 2 team of Drew Machholz and Mark Milner posted a shutout, 8-0. In singles play, no Roadrunner dropped a set. Milner did not lose a game at No. 4 singles, defeating James MacIndoe, 6-0, 6-0. In women's action, Mitra Hirad won her first RMAC match over Cyndi Nagy at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2. The No. 3 doubles team of Ragnhild Kinoshita and Akiko Kinoshita had three match points but fell, 9-7. With the win, the men improve to 9-5 overall, 1-0 in the RMAC, while the women fall to 1-13 overall, 0-1 in the RMAC. Metro State hosts Mesa State, April 7 at noon.
