Mullane Wins Twice; Lakers Fall To Grand Valley State :: Elizabeth Mullane picked up victories at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles

Grandville, Mich. - Elizabeth Mullane swept through her No. 5 singles match and combined with Chelsea Downing to win an easy No. 3 doubles match, but the Mercyhurst women's tennis team was unable to get past Grand Valley State in a 7-2 loss Saturday.

Mullane won 6-3, 6-2 over McCall Monte and her and Downing beat Jenna Killips and Jaime Oppenlander 8-3. The Lakers' Meghan Raynor did play well at No. 4 singles, winning her opening set 7-6 (7-3), but dropped the final two sets 6-1, 10-2.

Mercyhurst (4-4, 2-3 GLIAC) will travel to Michigan to play Wayne State Friday at 2 p.m. and will then meet Findlay on the return trip Saturday at 10 a.m.
