Indianapolis, Ind. - The Mercyhurst women's tennis team split four matches in the opening round of the ITA Regional Tennis Tournament in Indianapolis Friday. Jennifer Daly and Jaclyn McLean each won their first match.

Daly defeated Tesvataha Long of Tiffin 7-5, 6-1 while McLean beat Katie Jo Clagg of Southern Indiana 6-4, 7-5. Two other Lakers, Meghan Raynor and Kim Ezzo, came up on the short end of first round matches.

Ezzo lost a third set super tiebreak to Barylann Tiat of Grand Valley 6-3, 5-7, 10-5, while Raynor lost to Raphesie Perisic of Northwood 6-0, 6-3.

Action will continue in the ITA Tournament Saturday.
