Mercyhurst Remains Unbeaten In Spring Season :: Jaclyn McLean won her sixth consecutive singles match

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Mercyhurst women's tennis team had no trouble with Catholic University Wednesday, defeating the Cardinals 9-0 win to improve to 3-0 on the spring season and 11-10 overall.

The Lakers did not drop a set against Catholic and was hardly pushed throughout the match. No. 1 Jennifer Daly won 6-0, 6-1 and No. 2 Elizabeth Mullane won 6-1, 6-2, as did No. 6 Jaclyn McLean. Jamie Sutyak and Chelsea Downing swept their matches 6-0, 6-0 and Meghan Raynor won her match 6-1, 6-1 to round out the singles results.

In doubles play, the Lakers swept their matches again as Mullane and Downing won 8-6 at No. 1, Daly and Christine Mersch won 8-3 at No. 2, and Sutyak and McLean won handily 8-2 at No. 3.

Mercyhurst will be back in action Friday as the Lakers will play at Savannah College of Art and Design at 11 a.m. to end spring break.
