Columbus, Ohio - The Mercyhurst College men's and women's rowing teams won four events at the Speakmon Memorial Regatta Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. The Lakers won the men's open 2-, the men's open 4+, the men's open lightweight 1x, and the men's open 8+.

Mercyhurst took the top three spots in a field of 14 in the men's open 2-. The tandom of Kurtis Boyd and Brandon Boyd won the event in a time of 17:46.613. Stanislov Kostic and Chris Register were second in 18:30.026 and Ben Sobiech and Bob Patterson were third in 19:02.914.

The men's open 4+ narrowly won with a time of 17:23.068, less than a second better than Miami University's 17:23.671.

In the men's open lightweight 1x, Mercyhurst cruised with a time of 18:55.910, more than 30 seconds better than the second place finisher.

In the men's open 8+, Mercyhurst had a 14:46.835 to outrace the University of Dayton, which placed second in 15:05.628.

Mercyhurst's fall rowing season has now come to a close.
