MARIETTA, Ohio - Mercyhurst opened its spring campaign with three races at the Merietta Invitational.

The Lakers took second place in both the Novice 8 and the Varsity 4. In the F/N 8, Mercyhurst posted a time of 5:48.36, falling to Robert Morris by just half a length.

Mercyhurst added a another second place finish in the Varsity 4. The Lakers' boat crossed the finish line in 6:29.95, but the boat from the host school, Marietta, blew away the field with a 6:01.29.

The Lakers finished third in the Varsity 8 at the Marietta Invitational.

The Lakers posted a time of 5:30.53, just over seven seconds behind the winners from North Park (5:23.36). Ohio (5:27.95) was second. Marietta and Robert Morris took fourth and fifth.

Mercyhurst returns home to host the Mercyhurst Invitational on April 7.
