Princeton, N.J. - Sophomore forward Meghan Agosta's 15th goal of the season 12 seconds into the third period was all No. 7 Mercyhurst (10-2-2) would need as the Lakers defeated Princeton (4-6-2), 1-0, at Baker Rink. The win is the Lakers' fourth straight against the Tigers and they now lead the all-time series, 8-7-1.

After two scoreless periods, Agosta finally broke through Princeton netminder Kristen Young. The goal was assisted by junior defender Natalie Payne and freshman forward Ashley Cockell. It was Agosta's team-leading fifth game-winning goal. Agosta becomes the 10th player in the history of the program to reach the 100-point plateau.

Although the Lakers were outshot, 23-15, MC senior Laura Hosier was brilliant in recording her 15th career shutout.

Mercyhurst finished the game 0-for-4 on the power play while Princeton was 0-for-9.

It was deja vu for Princeton who lost to the Lakers 1-0 in overtime in the second game of last season's weekend set in Erie. Agosta also played the heroine in that game as she scored with just 37 seconds left in the extra period.

Head coach Michael Sisti was very pleased with how his team bounced back this weekend: "I am very happy with how the team competed this weekend. We got two much-needed wins against a very good Princeton team."

The Lakers will finish the six-game road trip as they challenge CHA-rival Niagara on Dec. 1-2 at 2 p.m. both days. Mercyhurst returns home on Dec. 7-8 against No. 1 New Hampshire at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
