Lakers Ninth After Day One of Youngstown State Invitational

Youngstown, Ohio - The Mercyhurst Lakers women's golf team is in ninth place after the first round of play at the Youngstown Invitational this sunday.Youngstown is currently in first place followed by University of Detriot Mercy and the University of Dayton. Youngstown State leads the field with by seven strokes with a 312 (+24). Youngstown's Adrianna DiLaonardo and Kathryn Rogner are currently tied for first place. The Lakers shot a 363(+75)on the day. Junior Caitlin Cummings was the top individual with an 86. She is currently tied for 30th out of the 62-player field. Junior Kaitlin Brody is 38th with a 90. Junior Matte Laurer sits at 47th with a 92. Sittng back to back at 56th and 57th respectively is Junior Alexandra Spoerndle with a 95 and Sophomore Alanna Kirwan with a 97.Closing out the field for Mercyhurst is Freshman Arielle Chong at 59th, Lauren Montelbell at 61st, and Senior Abagail Letson at 62nd. Play concludes today with the second round being played in Youngstown, Ohio. The Lakers will then have a week off before playing in the Penn State Behand Invitation in Erie,Pa. on September 20th.
