Columbus, Ohio - The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association recognized 70 athletes who have been named to the MIVA Academic All-Conference team. Among those 70 athletes were eight Mercyhurst men's volleyball players.

To be eligible, athletes must have a career grade point average of at least 3.0 after the completion of the fall semester at their respective institutions. The eight Lakers named to the team were: Jeff Hartman, David Hatten, Travis Jessick, Ian Michalski, Joe Montroy, Bryan Ritter, Eric Schmalzried and Tim Wagner.
