SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Mercyhurst College dropped a 5-4 match as the fifth seed to Wayne State at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships at Drury.

The Lakers (14-8) jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play behind wins at first and third doubles. Lee Michael Marnik and Mariano Fava won 8-3 at first doubles, with Ronald Heurich and Mateusz Przybysz winning 8-5 at third.

Fava and Heurich were Mercyhurst's only winners in singles play. Fava notched a 6-1, 6-3 win at first singles, with Heurich a 6-4, 6-3 winner at sixth singles.

Wayne State (11-9) advances to face No. 1 seed Drury.
