Wayne State Defeats Mercyhurst 5-1

Midland, Mich. - The doubles team of sophomore Mariano Fava and Dan Hersh had the only win for Mercyhurst as Wayne State defeated the Lakers 5-1 in the fifth- place match at the GLIAC Championships Saturday at Midland, Mich. With the loss, Mercyhurst ended the regular season at 10-10 while the Warriors improved to 6-8. The host Timberwolves, looking for their 12th straigth GLIAC Championship, will play Ferris State in the final later today. The Lakers will learn later this month if they get an invitation to the NCAA Tournament in early May. |
