Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst concluded regular season play Sunday with a 5-4 conference loss to visiting Grand Valley State. Mercyhurst dropped to 9-8 overall and to 3-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) while Grand Valley State improved to 14-6 and 5-1 respectively.

Mercyhurst and Grand Valley split six singles matches, with MC getting wins from #1 Mariano Fava, #2 Lee Michael Marnik, and #4 Lucas Krasowski. But Grand Valley took two-of-three doubles contests. Only the #1 team of Fava and Dan Hersh prevailed.

Mercyhurst will resume action next weekend at the GLIAC Tournament to be held in Midland, Mich. The Lakers, ranked #6 in the Great Lakes Region, will be the #5 seed and will play #4 Lake Superior State Friday at 10:00am in the tournament's first round. Tournament host Northwood is the #1 seed.
