Colton, Mudd Earn All-GLIAC Honors

Erie, Pa. - Freshman Billy Colton and junior Daniel Mudd were chosen by the coaches on Thursday to represent Mercyhurst on the All-GLIAC teams. Colton, as a freshman forward, was named to the First-Team All-GLIAC squad while Mudd garnered Second-Team honors for his efforts in goal. Colton is currently leading the Lakers with 15 goals and three assists for a total of 33 points this season. As a freshman, he has started all 19 games and is tied for first with three game-winning goals. Colton is also the chosen penalty kicker for Mercyhurst, compiling a 5 goals on six attempts. He has been a frequent honorable mention for GLIAC player of the week and boasts a .635 shot on goal percentage. Mudd has been a stalwart in goal for the Lakers, posting a .713 save percentage with 92 saves and 37 goals against. He has played every minute of every game for Mercyhurst, totaling 1789 minutes this season. Mudd also had noteworthy performances in both matches against Gannon with a combined 17 saves. The Lakers will look to upset No.1 seed Gannon today at 2:30 p.m. The game is set to be played at Gannon University. |
