ERIE, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College men's soccer team remained No. 25 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released October 31.

The Lakers jumped into the national poll at No. 25 last week. Mercyhurst held steady in that spot after defeating Northwood, 4-0, and Gannon, 4-1, to wrap up the regular season.

Dowling kept the top spot this week with its 18-0-1. Fort Lewis, West Florida, Franklin Pierce and Lenoir-Rhyne round out the top five this week.

The Lakers travel to Edwardsville, Illinois to face the No. 6 team in the poll, SIU-Edwardsville on Thursday at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

The only team in the poll on Mercyhurst's regular season schedule in 2006 was No. 14 Northern Kentucky, who defeated the Lakers 1-0 on September 24.

The Lakers face SIU-Edwardsville at 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday.
