On Eve Of Title Game, Lakers Ready For Le Moyne
May 26, 2007 Baltimore, Mary. - While Mercyhurst is attracting plenty of media attention during NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship weekend, the coaches and players are preparing hard for their opportunity to compete for the National Championship for the first time in the 11 year history of the program. The game can be seen live on CSTV at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The Lakers face a formidable opponent in Le Moyne, a squad that has won two of the past three national championships and already handed Mercyhurst its only loss of the season, an 8-7 overtime defeat early in the season. But since that point, Mercyhurst has won 10 straight games and finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the country for five straight weeks. During the weekend, the Lakers have practiced at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, as well as getting their feet wet with a Friday afternoon practice at M&T Bank Stadium. The team took part in the championship banquet Friday evening and is focused on avenging that loss to Le Moyne. Photos from the practice sessions can be viewed at: Photo Gallery |
