Brandon Hill Named Daktronics Second Team All-Region

Nov. 28, 2007

Ellensburg, Wash. - Mercyhurst College senior tight end Brandon Hill was named Daktronics Football All-Northwest Region second team, announced Wednesday, in a vote by 23 sports information directors from the Northwest Region.

Hill was named to the second team after a strong season as a tight end. He had 40 catches for 633 yards receiving and added four touchdowns. He was also a tremendous run blocker, helping running back Richard Stokes break the school's single-season rushing record. Hill was also the team's punter until a leg injury forced him out of that role over the final three games. His best game of the year came against Ashland, when he caught nine passes for 163 yards and a touchdown.

Hill was also named GLIAC Second Team All-Conference and was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player, Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and was a team captain.

Mercyhurst finished the year with a 4-7 record, including 3-7 in the GLIAC, but the Lakers set the school record with 353 points, an average of 32.1 per game.
