Erie, Pa - Coach McKinnon and the Mercyhurst Club Hockey Team have announced that Whitney Gibbs and Matt Warren will captain the hockey club for the 2007-2008 season.

Gibbs, a senior HRIM Major from Ottawa, Ontario was chosen to lead the team by Coach McKinnon. Gibbs has a natural ability to influence others and comes from an impressive hockey background that included a stop in the NOJHL where he played for the Manitoulin Junior A Islanders. As a freshman, Gibbs was nominated to the ACHA All-Rookie team as a defenseman.

Joining Gibbs as co-captain is senior International Business Major Matt Warren who last played in the CJHL for the Pembroke Junior A Lumberkings. Warren brings an impressive hockey background and a strong knowledge of the game to the program. This will be Warren's first season with the club hockey team.

Assisting the captains are seniors Charlie Revett and Bobby Williams. Revett, an Accounting Major from Buffalo, NY is in his 3rd year with the program. Also in his 3rd year with the team is senior goaltender Bobby Williams, an Intelligence Studies Major from Plano, TX.
