The Mercyhurst Club Hockey Team opened the 2006-2007 season with a road victory against Duquesne University, the #14 seeded team in the ACHA. Ten different Mercyhurst players contributed to the score sheet in what turned out to be a see-saw battle that was dictated by special teams. Assistant captain Brad Maxa opened the scoring midway through the first period in a spirited affair that was filled with 96 minutes in penalties. Co-captain Jason Kilijanski scored the eventual game winning goal at 16:43 of the third period. Sophomore goalie Adam Falkner played strong between the pipes, making several key saves at critical points throughout the game that was nothing short of spectacular. Coach McKinnon was pleased with his team's overall effort and execution. "We played with passion and poise. It was a good road win and a great start to the season. With exceptional goaltending and a balanced approach to our attack, I think we have many good things to look forward to this season," explained McKinnon.

The Club Hockey team is back in action this weekend as they face off against division rivals Niagara University and the University of Buffalo on Friday October 13th and 14th, respectively.
