Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst's Bill Shannon was chosen American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Division I Vice-President recently at the association's convention in Florida. Shannon will serve in that capacity for the next two years.

The ACHA is the governing body for 350 college club hockey teams throughout the United States. The teams play under Division I, II and III men and Division I & II women. Shannon now assumes responsibility for all AHCA Division I activities.

Mercyhurst's club hockey team, currently coached by Tom McKinnon, plays in Division I. Shannon will continue his role as the team's General Manager and as president of the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League to which Mercyhurst also belongs.
