Erie, Pa - The Club Hockey team improved their ECHL league record to 5-3-2 with a recent 5-2 victory against the University at Buffalo. The Lakers (10-14-2) finished the year in 4th place and will play Robert Morris University in the first round of the ECHL playoffs to be held in Rochester, NY the weekend of February 23rd & 24th. RMU finished the year with a record of 19-4-3 and as regular season ECHL league champions they received an automatic bid to the National Tournament in Youngstown, OH.

The Lakers look to rebound against RMU after suffering two regular season losses by scores of 5-4 and 5-1. Last year, Mercyhurst was the #1 seed going into playoffs, but RMU came out on top in their semi-final match-up. This year, Mercyhurst hopes to return the favor by knocking off the #1 seed in their semi-final match-up with the Colonials.

Game time is set for 7 pm at the Genesee Valley Ice Rink in Rochester, NY on Friday February 23rd. If the Lakers win their semi-final match-up against the Colonials, they will play again the next day at 2:30 pm for the V.J. Stanley Cup against the winner of the Niagara/Buffalo semi-final.
