Erie, Pa - The club hockey team returned home from a long road trip this past weekend having come up short against the defending ACHA national champions from the University of Rhode Island by scores of 4-1 and 5-2.

The weekend series featured two solid performances, but Mercyhurst was unable to neutralize the balanced attack of the Rams and it failed to capitalize on several key scoring chances throughout.

Despite the two losses, the team played exceptionally well led by sophomore Mike Macsata who scored twice for the Lakers during the weekend series.

The team returns home this coming Friday to play Duquesne University, followed by a home and home series with division rivals from Niagara University.
