CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Memphis track coach Kevin Robinson felt that the relaxed atmosphere of the Redhawk Invitational would allow his team to perform well leading into the Conference USA Championships next weekend and his goals were met as multiple Tigers improved their season marks.

Junior Sivan Aballi threw a new collegiate personal best of 51-11 in the shot put, outdoing her former indoor best by nearly two feet. The mark also betters Aballi's previous NCAA qualifying mark, increasing the chance that she will join teammate Gail Lee at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Lee won the women's shot and weight throws Friday with marks of 53-2.75 and 57-8.5.

Women's pole-vaulters Whitney Bolton and Ashton Baldwin broke the Memphis school record for the indoor pole vault as each competitor was able to clear 11-5.75, besting Bolton's former indoor best of 11-0.

Junior Chen Edri set a new indoor collegiate personal best in the high jump with a clearance of 5-8 and set a new meet record in the event as well.

On the men's side, Glen Edwards threw two feet past his season best, winning the men's shot with 56-8. Greg Norrid set a new collegiate personal best in the event at 53-7.

Senior Brandon Winbush upped his season best in the long jump with a distance of 23-6, and Brian Prackett cleared 13-11 in the pole vault.

The Tigers will travel to Houston for the C-USA Championships on Friday and Saturday hosted by the University of Houston.
