FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Strong performances from its middle distance and field competitors highlighted the Memphis track team's efforts on the final day of competition at the Tyson Invitational.

For a second straight day, freshman runner Tina Sherratt topped one of her own school records. After resetting the Lady Tiger record in the mile Friday, Sherratt ran a 2:11.9 in the 800 meters Saturday, which was three seconds faster than the mark she set last weekend at Southern Illinois.

Gail Lee delivered another solid performance with a throw of 52-8 and a fourth-place overall finish in the women's shot put. Fellow Lady Tiger Sivan Aballi also finished in the top-10 with a mark of 48-3.5.

In men's competition, thrower Steffen Nerdal took a top-10 finish in the weight throw with a new collegiate personal best of 61-1.25.

The Tigers will split up next week as the field competitors travel to Southeast Missouri State for the SEMO Invitational and the runners head to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Twilight.
