TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Junior Christina Wieser and a pair of Lady Tiger doubles teams won their opening matches at the University of Alabama/Robert Alison Fall Classic, Friday. Wieser downed Murray State's Tatiana Feit, 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 to advance to a Saturday match against top seeded Whitney Ebor from Florida State in 4.0 singles.

Sophomore Brooke Cowie also advanced in her D singles bracket, due to a default victory over Murray State's Polina Kukoulina.

In doubles, the duo of Cowie and freshman Ekin Zafir won their opening match, 8-5, over the Samford team of Anna Jackson and Katie McMiller, while Andrea Feichtinger and Alex Tjioe won their doubles opener, 8-2, over Birmingham Southern's Laura Kirk and Jennifer Williams.
