Memphis, Tenn. - Charlotte Peterson became just the fourth coach in Memphis athletic history to reach the 300-win plateau as Memphis defeated McNeese State, 4-3, in women's tennis Saturday. With a 3-1 lead, number two singles player Sabrina Lindemann closed out a 6-3, 6-3 win over Magali Risoleo to secure Peterson's 300th.

Bobby Kilpatrick, the head baseball coach from 1974 to 1992, won 653 games. He is followed on the all-time list by Tommy Buford who won 441 matches as men's tennis coach from 1966 until 1998. Mary Lou Johns, women's basketball coach from 1972 through 1991, won 368. Now, add Peterson's name to that list.

The win evened the Tigers' record at 1-1.
