With junior Marianne Ruud carding a one over par 73 during the final round, The University of Memphis Lady Tiger golf team climbed into a 10th place tie in the prestigious Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, GA. The U of M was in 15th place after the first 18-holes, moved into a tie for 12th after 36 and finished in a tie for 10th with Nebraska and Alabama. The University of Florida won the tournament overtaking Georgia and Auburn on the final day..
Jeanne Cho of Florida won medalist honors with an even par score of 216. Memphis sophomore Meaghan Francella carded a 77 in the final round and finished the tournament in 22nd place. Ruud, who was tied for 40th after 36-holes, climbed to a tie for 25th place with her final round score of 73.
Auburn University finished in second place, while Georgia was third. South Carolina and Furman rounded out the top five respectively.
