The University of Memphis men's track and field team also competed
at the Tulane University Invitational, winning four events, Saturday.
Memphis claimed crowns in the 100, the 400-meter hurdles, the 4x400 meter
relay and the high jump. Junior Fotis Fotiou won the high jump for the second
consecutive week when he cleared 6-6.75.
Senior Larry Crawford continues to prepare for next weekend's meet at
LSU and finished 1st in the 100 in 10.46 and second in the 200 in 21.03, just
.01 second behind Calvin Lawrence, an unattached runner competing at the
meet.
Senior Chris Ingram added a second-place finish in the 400 in 48.40 and ran
a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team that finished in 3:11.58.
Junior Kris Harmon added another win for Memphis in the 400-meter hurdles in
53.81, over 3.5 seconds faster than the nearest competitor.
The men's and women's teams will travel to LSU to compete in the prestigious
Alumni Gold Classic next weekend.
