Memphis quarterback Danny Wimprine was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against East Carolina this past weekend. The junior passed for 268 yards and threw four touchdowns on passes of 29, 32, 27 and 51 yards in route to a 41-24 victory.

His 268 yards rushing against the Pirates ranks as the 17th highest single game total in UM football annuals and moved Wimprine to 2,368 yards passing for 2003. He is currently ranked 25th in the nation in passing and first in Conference USA. He is also ranked 26th nationally in total offense and 31st in points responsible for.

Wimprine earned the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week Award earlier in the season for his play against Ole Miss. Memphis linebacker Will Hyden and tailback DeAngelo Williams have also received C-USA Player of the Week honors this season.
