Former Ole Miss standout Ashleigh Shear enters her second year as an assistant with McNeese State.

The 2005 graduate of Ole Miss, played two years (2004-05 for the Lady Rebels and ranked fourth in the SEC in 2004 in aces per game and fifth in the league in assists in 2005. She was a member of the honor roll both years and was the 2006 winner of the SEC postgraduate scholarship for community service. She served as a volunteer coach for the Lady Rebels in the Spring of 2006.

Prior to her stint at Ole Miss, Shear was a two year member of the United States Naval Academy volleyball team.

In the Summer of 2002 and Fall of 2003 she served as an assistant coach at Lexington (S.C.) High School where she helped guide the team to the 4-A state semifinals.
