Senior Renee' Landers Was Named Team MVP For The Third Straight Year
 
 
Senior Renee' Landers Named McNeese State's 2007 Soccer MVP

LAKE CHARLES-- For the third straight year, senior Renee' Landers was named McNeese State's women's soccer MVP here Thursday night when the 2007 Southland Conference Champions were honored at its annual banquet. Twenty two student-athletes were honored and presented lettermen certificates.

Landers, a native of Littleton, Colorado helped the Cowgirls to its first regular season Southland Conference title with a 7-1-1 conference record. The senior was part of a team that produced the first undefeated home record at 8-0-2 and a 12-5-4 overall record. She played in 19 games, attempted 11 shots, scored one goal and dished out two assists and was named to the all-SLC team for the second time in her career.

Junior Kamryn Koch was presented the "Golden Boot" award for the player who scored the most goals. Koch, a native of Breaux Bridge, led the team and the Southland Conference with 15 goals on the year. Koch also broke four single season records and one career record and recorded her third career hat trick. She was named to the All-SLC team for the third straight year.

Junior goalkeeper Shelby Money was awarded the "Golden Cowbell" which is presented to the most consistent player. Money, a native of Cypress, TX. helped the Cowgirls to a single season record 10 shutouts. Money also set an individual shutout record with six and led the Cowgirls with 110 saves and 1,481 minutes played.

Freshman Alana Clark was awarded the "Freshman of the Year" after playing in 20 games and scoring six goals, dishing out seven assists and was credited with 63 shots. Clark was named to the All-SLC honorable mention team.
