Women's Golf Team In 8th Place At Arkansas-Little Rock/North Texas Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ar.-- McNeese State's women's golf team sits in eighth place after two rounds of the Arkansas-Little Rock/North Texas Invitational here Monday. The Cowgirls shot a 614 team total on Monday with a 310 in the first round then a 304 in he second round.

Arkansas-Little Rock leads the 17 team field with a 588, five shots ahead of second place Missouri State University with a 593. Middle Tennessee State and Texas-El Paso are tied for third at 602 followed by Sam Houston State (603), Oral Roberts (606) and Florida International (613).

Texas-El Paso's Gerina Mendoza is the individual leader with a one shot lead (141) over Oral Roberts' Pamela Ontiveros and Mallory Fraiche of Arkansas-Little Rock who both shot a 142.

Tinna Johannsdottir is the Cowgirls' individual leader in 14th place after shooting a 149 on Monday. Johannsdottir shot a 76 in the first round and came back to fire a one-over par 73 in the second round. Maggie Welch is in 29th place with a 154. Welch shot a 80 in the opening round and also had a good second round with a two-over par 74.

Other Cowgirl scores has Lacy McKinley in 34th place with 155, Hannah Bagwell in 55th place with a 160 and Sara Ekermann is in 60th place with a 162.

The final round will conclude today with 18-holes.
