Isabell Anderer Named To 2002 Verizon Academic All-District II Volleyball Team

11/14/2002

Huntington, W.Va.-Isabell Anderer was named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District II First Team Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Anderer is one of only seven players in the states of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to make the team.

Anderer, who has maintained a 4.0 GPA in business since her arrival from the University of Manheim last season, leads the team in digs this season, with an average of 2.99 per game, and is second in kills, with 2.71 per game.

Anderer has been a mainstay for the Herd this season in their tremendous turnaround from a year ago. Last season, Marshall was 6-21 overall and 4-14 in the Mid-American Conference, while this year, the Herd has a record of 19-8, 10-4 in conference play.

The seven members of the All-District II First Team are now on the ballot for the Verizon/COSIDA Academic All-America Volleyball Team, which is scheduled to be announced on Thursday, December 3.
