Marshall Women's Track Completes Indoor Regular Season at Buckeye Invitational

Columbus, Ohio - Marshall University's 4x400 meter relay team of Rolanda Bruce, Angelica Harris, Cathryn Morris and Breanna Jones placed first in the event at Ohio State University's Buckeye Invitational on Saturday.

The Marshall 4x400 "A" team recorded a time of 4:06.92 to finish well ahead of the field. Marshall's "B" team that was comprised of Tarrin Scott, Teniqua Sutton, Andrea Jackson and Quinnyana Brown placed second in the event with a time of 4:19.38.

Other Marshall highlights from the Buckeye Invitational included a third place finish by Allison Cox in the 800 meter run and a third place effort by LaTricia Jones in the shot put. Cox recorded a time of 2:29.30 to finish just behind Ohio's Celia Struble and Ohio State's Ashley Jones. Jones won the event with a time of 2:18.43. Jones placed third in the shot put with a throw of 13.18 meters (44-3.25 feet). Ohio State's Veronica Jatsek won the event with a throw of 15.13 meters (49-7.75 feet).

The Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships are next up for the Thundering Herd women. Marshall will travel to the University of Houston next weekend to take part in the championship meet.
