Women's Golf Places Fifth At Northern Illinois' Snowbird Classic

TAMPA, Fla. - Freshman golfer Allyson Hatcher (Wheeling, W.Va.) led the Marshall women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Snowbird Classic in Tampa, Florida, Friday afternoon. The event was hosted by Northern Illinois University.
Hatcher posted a two-round score of 153 (76-77) to place seventh in the tournament. Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.) tied for 14th place with a 158 (82-76), while Sheena Caron (Bolt, W.Va.) finished with a 167 (85-82) to tie for 23rd. Amber Churchill (Dublin, Ohio) finished up the Herd scoring with a 166 (85-81, T-39th).
As a team, the Thundering Herd carded a two round total of 644. James Madison won the team title with a 604.
Individually, Jennifer Keefe of Southern Mississippi won medalist honors. She had a two round total of 145 (72-73).
Marshall's next tournament is MU's own Lady Herd El Diablo Intercollegiate in Citrus Springs, Fla. Competition begins on March 15th.
