CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - Junior Stacy Wagner (Harmony, Pa.) led the Marshall women's golf team with a 168 for a 17th place tie in the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational, which concluded on Saturday at Plantation Inn Golf Course. The Herd placed fifth in the team race with a 676 in the 36-hole event with Illinois (624) claiming the team title.

Wagner shot an 82 in Saturday's final round after firing an 86 on Friday. Tammy Mahar (Ashland, Ky.) placed in a tie for 21st (170) while Meredith Crislip (Parkersburg, W.Va.) was alone in 23rd with a 171.

Crislip posted Marshall's best round of the tournament with her 7-over 79 on Saturday. That round was a 13-stroke improvement from her opening-round 92.

UAB's Christina Wentworth took medalist honors with a 156 (77-79). The Blazers (651) finished in third place in the five-team race, with host Cincinnati (648) finishing 24 strokes behind the champion Illini.

Marshall will next play on April 6-8 at the EKU Spring Invitational in Richmond, Ky.
