HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Head coach Royce Chadwick issued awards to his players and thanked the many in attendance who supported the Marshall women’s basketball team during its best season as a member of the Mid-American Conference at the third annual awards banquet on Sunday at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Departing senior Kim Griffin (Valdosta, Ga.) grabbed the afternoon’s biggest award as she was named the Donna Lawson Most Valuable Player.

Thundering Herd broadcaster Vince Payne of WMUL-FM served as the event’s emcee and offered a look back at the 2004-05 season. A highlight video showcasing some of the top moments of the East Division championship season was shown, as was a glimpse of the Herd’s incoming recruiting class.
