The Marshall women's basketball team travels to Toledo for a weekend showdown with the Rockets.

The Herd (8-17, 4-10) are coming off of a 67-45 loss to the Miami RedHawks on Tuesday evening. Marshall jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but an 18-2 run by Miami minutes later kept the feisty visitors at bay. The Herd are led by Ida Dotson, who averages 13.4 points a game, and Andrea Fitzgerald, who adds 10.2. Sophomore Catie Knable has been the Herd force on the boards, averaging over 12 (12.67) rebounds per game in Marshall's last three contests.

Toledo (16-9, 11-3) presents a formidable task for Marshall this weekend. The Rockets lead the all-time series between the two schools 2-0, with their last win coming during the 1998-99 season. UT was picked to win the MAC West before the season by the MAC Writers' Association. They are also the defending MAC Tournament champions. The Rockets are led by Courtney Risinger, who averages 13.6 points per game. Melantha Herron also adds 13.5 points per contest.
