Marshall's men's basketball team travels to rival Ohio Saturday for a key MAC East contest that will be televised live locally by WSAZ-TV.
Both squads are fighting for home court advantage in the first round of the MAC Tournament and with only one week remaining in the regular season seeding is at stake with every game.
Ohio, Marshall’s oldest continual basketball rival, leads the all-time series 45-40 and has won three straight, including an 87-85 double-overtime victory in Huntington earlier this year.
The Herd (12-12 overall, 8-7 MAC) is coming off of an 80-67 win over Kent State that knocked the Flashes out of first place in the East Division. Ohio (10-14 overall, 6-9 MAC) defeated Virginia at home on Wednesday (78-72) with Steve Esterkamp erupting for 31 points. The Bobcats are led by forward Brandon Hunter’s 21.6 points and 13 rebounds per game.
