Baseball Signs Two-Time Junior College All-American
7/2/2002
Huntington, W.Va.-Marshall University head baseball coach Dave Piepenbrink announced today the signing of Francois Larmore, a two-time Division III Junior College All-American for Gloucester County Community College. The 6’1”, 220-pound left-handed outfielder from Magnolia, NJ, comes to Marshall after leading GCCC to two consecutive Division III Junior College World Series appearances.
In 2001, Larmore was named to the all-conference, all-region and all-world series teams as he hit .386 on the season with 58 RBI’s and 55 runs scored.
He followed with an impressive 2002 campaign. As a sophomore, Larmore batted .431 on the season with 76 RBI’s and 71 runs scored. He also added 13 doubles and ten home runs for GCCC.
“Francois will give us a solid, middle-of-the-order, left-handed batter. He is a tough out that will make our 2003 line-up stronger. We are very happy about his signing,” Piepenbrink said.
In 2001, Larmore helped lead his team to the 2001 Division III Junior College World Series title. GCCC finished second in the 2002 Division III Junior College World Series.
“He comes from a winning junior college program,” Piepenbrink said. “This was as important to us as the impressive offensive numbers he has put up in two years.”
Larmore joins fellow Thundering Herd signees Matt LeFleur, Brad Helm, Mike Marchyshyn, Chris Koutsavlis, Fritz Conrad, David Goodson, Corie O’Bryan and Scott Henning.
