Baseball Game At Akron Postponed

AKRON, Ohio - Due to strong rain in the area, today's Mid-American Conference tilt between the Marshall baseball team and the University of Akron has been postponed and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday.
The doubleheader has been tentatively scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
Marshall enters the weekend with a record of 19-25 and 3-11 in the MAC. They were swept last weekend in a three-game series against Central Michigan.
Last season, the Herd took two of three against the Zips. Marshall leads the all-time series by a 21-10 margin.
Akron comes into the weekend with a 23-17 mark and is 7-4 in the MAC. Last weekend, they lost two out of three to Northern Illinois. Prior to that, they took two out of three from the conference leading Miami RedHawks.
Chris Cummings (Huntington, WV) and Chris Koutsavlis (Pittsburgh, PA) are penciled in as the starters on Saturday. Log on to www.HerdZone.com for updates after the game.
