HANOVER, N.H. - The University of Maine men's and women's indoor track teams competed on Saturday in the 37th Dartmouth Relays hosted by Dartmouth College at Leverone Fieldhouse. The Maine women had 63 points to finish third out of fourteen teams while the men scored 43 points to finish fifth overall out of twelve teams.

The women were led by a first place in the mile by Heather Jovanelli (Brewer, Maine) with a time of 5:11.14. In the 800 meters, Maine took the top two spots as Hana Pelletier (Belgrade, Maine) was first in 2:16.53 and Kristen Vidlak (Thunder Bay, Ontario) was second with a time of 2:17.88. The Black Bears also picked up a win in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:15.73. Kathryn Souviney (East Vassalboro, Maine) was the top scorer in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.99. In the high jump, Erin Hatch (Saco, Maine) scored points by going 1.56 meters. Maine also had two strong performances in the pentathlon as Kathryn Souviney was fifth overall with 3374 points and Amanda Virgets (Stevensville, Md.) was sixth with 3200 points.

For the men, Kirby Davis (Falmouth, Maine) was first overall in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:16.50. Joshua Trevino (Rochester, N.H.) was sixth in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:41.00. In the 400 meters, Khabir Edwards (Portland, Maine) finished fourth with a time of 51.09. Edwards added a fifth place finish in the long jump, going 6.54 meters. Troy Irvine (Waterville, Maine) was second in the heptathlon with 4627 points. In the 800 meters, Eric Libby (Hampden, Maine) was seventh in 1:59.64, while in the 60 meter hurdles, Max Ludwig (South Portland, Maine) was seventh in 10.09. Chris Warren (Woburn, Mass.) was third in the high jump with 1.93 meters and Carson Hartman scored points with a sixth place finish in the triple jump going 12.79 meters.
