Kelly Law Named First Team Hockey East

BOSTON, Mass. - University of Maine women's ice hockey defenseman Kelly Law and forward Patricia Gagnon were honored on Friday night by Hockey East. Law was named to the conference All-Star first team, while Gagnon was named to the ITECH All-Rookie Team.

Law, a junior from Markham, Ontario, has played in all 31 games for the Black Bears and is tied for second with 25 points. She has scored seven goals and added eighteen assists. Law also was a member of the Hockey East All-Star Team that played the US Women's Olympic Team, in which she scored the game's first goal. She was a named to the Hockey East second team last season.

Gagnon, a freshman from Mont-Joli, Quebec, has played in thirteen games and has eight goals and eight assists for sixteen points. Four of her goals were scored on the power play and three of the goals were game-winners.

Maine, 17-8-6 overall on the season, faces New Hampshire on Saturday, March 4 at noon in the semifinals of the Hockey East Tournament. Maine has set a record for most games won in program history (17) and have scored the most power play goals in school history (44).
