Black Bears Look to Clip Eagles

RECENT GAMES:

Maine snapped a four-game losing streak with the sweep of Northeastern last weekend and will try to add on to their current two-game streak. The Black Bears were led by the three goal performance of senior captain Tristan Desmet (Strathmore, Alberta). Desmet tallied two goals on Friday opening the scoring and scoring the game winner. On Saturday, Desmet gave the Black Bears some breathing room after going up 2-0. In Friday's game, Sonia Corriveau (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) partnered with Desmet to score a goal and add and assist while Julie Poulin (Beauceville, Quebec) scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's game and was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week for her performance. Laura Maddin (Langley, British Columbia) and Cheryl White (Portage la Prairie, Manitoba) tallied two assists, Brigitte Laflamme (St.-Augustin, Quebec) scored a goal, Karine Senecal (Montreal, Quebec) and Danielle Tangredi (London, Ontario) each added assists on the weekend. Tangredi earned her first career assist as a Black Bear in Saturday's game.

Boston College enters the weekend series with a split with Providence. The Eagles defeated the Friars 4-1 with three third-period goals in less than a minute on Saturday before losing on Sunday 4-2.

HEAD TO HEAD:

Maine and Boston College skated to a 3-3 tie back on November 14th after the Eagles defeated the Black Bears 3-2 on Saturday, November 13th. Last season, Maine took three out of four meetings against Boston College. The Black Bears hold a 10-4-3 all-time series record against the Eagles.

OFFENSE VS. DEFENSE:

The Black Bears score an average of 2.61 goals per game this season. In the first 28 games, the Black Bears have netted 73 goals and allowed 62 for a 2.21 goals against average. The Eagles have given up an average of 3.28 goals per game (95 GA in 29 games) and scored 64 goals on the year for a 2.21 goals per game average.

POWER PLAY:

In all games played, Maine's power play has scored 19 goals in 175 attempts (.109) to Boston College's 33 goals scored in 166 attempts (.199). In conference play, the Black Bears are 11 for 100 (.110) with Boston College 17 for 90 (.189).

PENALTY KILL:

Maine's has allowed 16 goals in 92 attempts (.826) to the Eagles' 15 in 86 attempts (.826).

SCHEDULE UPDATE:

Saturday's game will be played at Northeastern University and begins at 4pm with Sunday's game set for a 1pm face-off at Boston College.
