Field Hockey To Hold Pair of Clinics
Sept. 19, 2006 ORONO, Maine-- The University of Maine field hockey team will hold a pair of clinics during October. The first clinic will be held on Saturday, October 7 after the Vermont game. The second clinic will be held on Sunday, October 22 following the UMBC game. Members of the Maine coaching staff and student-athletes will host the clinics. The first clinic on October 7 is open to student in grades 1-5. The clinic which costs $45 includes a field hockey stick, a ball, shin guards and a mouth guard to keep and a one hour introductory clinic. The cost is $25 for the clinic only. Participants will work on individual skills and learn the basics of field hockey. The second clinic will be held on October 22. The clinic is $25 and open to student in grades 6-12. Participants will have the opportunity to work on individual skills including offensive elimination, defense, passing/receiving, shooting, and small game play.
