Sarah Singer Joins Loyola Women's Volleyball Program
Jan. 22, 2007 CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago head women's volleyball coach Marcie Bomhack announced today that outside hitter Sarah Singer (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) has joined the Rambler volleyball program after playing two seasons at the University of Connecticut. Singer has enrolled at Loyola and will have two years of eligibility remaining, beginning with the 2007 season. "We are thrilled to welcome Sarah into our program," said Bomhack. "She brings great experience from having played against tough competition in the BIG EAST Conference and plays very high above the net. Her competitiveness will fit in well with our program and I know she will do great things for us." Singer comes to Rogers Park after two solid seasons in Storrs, where she racked up 444 kills (2.60 kpg) in 171 games played. She was an immediate contributor for the Huskies, hammering down 246 kills as a freshman - finishing third on the team with 280.5 points - and followed that up with 198 kills and 37 blocks last season for a UConn team that finished with a 19-11 record. Loyola returns four starters and nine letterwinners from last year's team, including top hitter Keily Zins and Horizon League All-Newcomer honoree Dana VanDiggelen. |
