Keily Zins pounded out seven kills in Loyola's season-opening loss to Alabama

Loyola Drops Opener To Alabama, 3-0

Sept. 2, 2005

Box Score

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Host Alabama jumped on Loyola early and claimed a 3-0 (30-11, 30-21, 30-24) win over the Ramblers in LU's season opener this afternoon at the Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Alabama improves to 2-1 on the young season while the Ramblers sit at 0-1.

"This was a tough way for us to open our season," said first-year head coach Marcie Bomhack. "Alabama already had two matches under its belt and had the home crowd in its favor. I am happy how we settled in a little bit more each game and continued to improve. We can take a lot away from this match and continue to get better."

Keily Zins led the way for the Ramblers with seven kills while Hilary Stromath added six kills and four blocks.

Loyola returns to the court this afternoon when it takes on Oklahoma at 4:30 p.m.
