Loyola Women's Soccer Signs Julie Colhoff To National Letter of Intent

April 13, 2006

CHICAGO - Loyola University Chicago women's soccer coach Frank Mateus has announced the signing of Julie Colhoff to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Ramblers beginning this fall. Colhoff is currently attending Stevenson High School, where she is a defender for the school's varsity soccer team.

Colhoff has helped Stevenson capture a pair of North Suburban Conference Lake Division titles along with a couple of IHSA regional championships. She is a two-time All-NSC and All-Area honorable mention honoree, while also receiving Academic All-NSC accolades. Colhoff was a recipient of the IHSA's Scholastic Achievement Award.

"Julie is a technical and physical defender and she is a good man-to-man marker," Mateus said. "We expect her to compete for playing time once she sets foot on campus this fall and she really makes our defensive group even stronger."

Loyola finished its first season under Mateus last fall with a record of 8-10-1.
