Ramblers Take Second Place At Grand Valley Spring Invite
March 8, 2007
ST. CLOUD, Fla. - Michelle Puch and Lucy McGovern turned in impressive performances to help Loyola University Chicago to a second-place showing at the Grand Valley Spring Invite at Royal St. Cloud Golf Course today. The Ramblers (633) finished 16 strokes behind tournament champion Detroit (617) in the eight-team field. Puch was a picture of consistency at the two-day event, firing a 76 in yesterday's opening round before carding a three-over-par 75 today to place second with a 151, a mere four strokes behind medalist Rachel McHenry of Detroit. McGovern bounced back from an opening-round 80 to fire an even-par 72, the second-lowest score by any golfer in the tournament, to tie for third with a 152. Kaitlin Kearney (86-79) and Jaclyn Zembrodt (80-85) tied for 14th place with identical scores of 165 while Rachael Sinnen rounded out the Ramblers' lineup with a 176 (88-88), which was good for a tie for 34th. Loyola concludes its spring break trip to Florida by competing against Detroit and Youngstown State, March 9-10 in Orlando. Final Team Results |
