Chicago, Ill. (April 22, 2005) - The top-seeded men’s volleyball team defeated Clarke 3-0 (30-16, 30-22, 30-23) to advance to the semifinal round of the MIVA tournament. The Ramblers will now host the rest of the MIVA tournament next weekend.

Leading the Ramblers in offense was Chris Kozlarek who nailed 18 kills, hitting .615, recorded 2 aces and 4 blocks (1 solo, 3 assisted). Corey Kloos pounded out 14 kills with only one error in 16 attempts to hit an impressive .813 for the evening. MIVA Player of the Year, Scott Greene had 10 kills, 3 service aces, 4 digs and one block against the Crusaders. Setter Brian Guntli had a match-high 45 assists.

For the evening Loyola hit .511, holding Clarke to .198. The Ramblers had a total of 7 team blocks compared to the Crusaders’ 3.

The MIVA tournament will continue next Friday, April 29th at Alumni Gym, with the first match set to begin at 5:00 p.m. and the second match at 7:00 p.m. The championship game will be Saturday, April 30th televised by CSTV at 4:00 p.m.
