Chicago, Ill. (March 23, 2005) – The men’s volleyball team, ranked #9 in the nation, defeated the #12 Lewis Flyers 3-1 (29-31, 31-29, 30-28, 30-24) this evening on the road. The Ramblers are now 21-1 overall and 11-0 in the MIVA and on an 18-match winning streak.

Chris Nelson had a career-high 19 kills, hitting .562 to lead the Ramblers in the win. Scott Greene chipped in 17 kills and 4 blocks (1 solo, 3 assisted) while Brian Guntli handed out 52 assists and recorded 10 digs.

Lewis (13-11, 8-3 MIVA) had a .188 hitting percentage, while Loyola connected at a .231. The low totals were an outcome of 26 combined blocks and 85 combined digs. Loyola held edges in both categories, leading 14-12 in blocks and 43-42 in digs.

The Ramblers will host their last regular season home match, which will also be senior night, against IPFW next Friday, April 1st in Alumni Gym at 7:00 p.m.
